Jumping Stable
The jumping stable is managed by Leopold van Asten. Together with a staff of 5 he is responsible for day-to-day operations.
Since 2000, Leopold has been riding for Stoeterij Duyselshof. He represents Stoeterij Duyselshof at 45 international events annually. Based on the experience he has accrued, he understands better than anyone what can be expected from horse and rider.
The jumping stable is home to 19 horses, all of which get their daily training. For training purposes, an indoor and outdoor riding arena, jumping paddock, horsewalker and lunging circle are available. There are also grass- and sandpaddocks available. The training stable is located nearby and affords additional possibilities to the horses such as use of the race track.
Leopold was working for Henk Nooren before he was employed at Stoeterij Duyselshof. He there gained a lot of experience training and competing several horses. Since his employment at Stoeterij Duyselshof he has had some great successes like becoming Dutch Champion in 2003 with his horse VDL Groep Think Twice, competing at the Olympics 2004 in Athens with VDL Groep Fleche Rouge, winning the Global Champions Tour in Estoril with VDL Groep Santana in 2009, winning the Dutch Championships 2015 with VDL Groep Zidane and again In 2019 with VDL Groep Miss Untouchable. Also winning the Rolex Grand Prix with VDL Groep Zidane at the Dutch Masters / Indoor Brabant in 2017 was a day always to remember. After the retirement of Zidane in 2020 Leopold developed VDL Groep Iron Z, homebred by Stoeterij Duyselshof, to become his tophorse and together they reached the highest level. Now that Iron is sold the mare VDL Groep Kiara, also homebred by Stoeterij Duyselshof, seems to be able to follow-up in the future.
Most of Leopold's show jumpers are bred and owned by Stoeterij Duyselshof.
